It is hard to imagine huh?Pasta came from China (of course they make it yucky and the Italians corrected it) it got to Italy around 1400.Tomatoes are from Mexico and got to Italy around 1530.

l guess it was all meat pies, fish and chips, bangers, and scones before that.

FQ:Would La Liga be more fun if one match a year for each team was declared the Tomatina match?

What would Italian food be without Pasta and Tomatoes

It would still be great and my favourite kind of food. Most pasta in Italia actually come from the country, Chine just had their noodles. And if you know anything about cousine [I see you seem to be very sure you're competent enough to judge food], you'd know noodles are not the only thing Italy has. Pizza? Oh I bet they come from Kazahstan, do not you think? And Nutella? I could not Live without it. It is Yum :D

yes italy cheats and steals. they will buy matches too.

You r wrong. Pizza, gnocchi, ravioli, tortellini (not average pasta) Italian olive oil, mozzarella, Italian wine, our salame & hams, steaks (Fiorentina), desserts (Tiramisu, Nutella, gelato [Italian ice cream], etc) , biscuits, chocolate, etc

Hmm I do not eat meat pies, fish & chips (as in the UK), definitely no bangers & scones? Not here mate.

The thing most people get wrong is it is not the material side of the cooking even, but it is the way it is cooked that makes it real Italian.

It is no wonder Italian restaurants r every where in the world, even in Baghdad, Iraq.

FA: Good idea!!

Whatever it was it was still far superior to whatever the other Europeans were eating...haha...what an arrogant answer...hehe

''Pasta came from China (of course they make it yucky and the Italians corrected it) it got to Italy around 1400.''

Tsk tsk tsk. You might want to try an authentic Chinese restaurant for your noodles. Food is subjective, but Chinese noodles do not taste *that* bad.

I'd imagine it would be more fun for spectators, but Tomatina makes me wonder how impoverished people would look at their peers wasting tomatoes.

So chow mein is ''yucky''???? Because yes that is got pasta in it! Come on seriously, every country got something good. Italy is got great olives, I think.

FQ: Absolutely!!!!

The whole Italy/Pasta thing is as bad a stereotype as Mexico/Tacos or America/Cheeseburgers.
They have many other fine foods.
